Traction Battery Assembly Removal (11 Steps)

- Inspection: If the traction battery housing shows leakage or electrical leakage → stop work immediately, post warning signs, and notify the traction battery supplier;
- Lock out the vehicle's high-voltage circuit (lockout/tagout);
- Put the vehicle ECU to sleep;
- Remove the service disconnect switch;
- Disconnect the battery positive and negative cables — after disconnecting the negative cable, cover both the positive and negative terminals with a clean, insulated protective cover to avoid short circuits;
- Traction battery insulation resistance test: >50 MΩ indicates good housing insulation; <50 MΩ indicates abnormal insulation → stop immediately, post warning signs, and notify the supplier; insulation testing must only be performed on de-energized circuits;
- Remove the wheels → remove the traction battery protective plate;
- Disconnect the traction battery cables (use insulated protective equipment and insulated tools throughout);
- Disconnect the ground strap → remove the traction battery: one person lowers the lift platform cart, one person observes the area around the traction battery to prevent scratches or impacts; after removal, the battery or platform cart must be lowered to the lowest position.

Ground strap: No zero-voltage test is required for removal; mounting bolt torque 8 N·m; during installation, avoid installing the ground strap harness in reverse.
Traction Battery Transfer and Storage
- From packaging box to workbench: mobile crane with capacity greater than 1 ton; it is prohibited to move the crane and boom together, and prohibited to move the crane while lifting the traction battery upward;
- Storage: -10°C to 45°C, ventilated, clean, dry indoor area, avoid direct sunlight, keep at least 2 m away from heat sources; during storage, maintain remaining charge between 40% and 60%; never invert, lay on side, or stand upright, avoid mechanical shock or heavy pressure; never invert during transport or service;
- After transferring to the workbench, place a warning sign and cover with an insulating cover.
On-Board Charger Removal and Installation
Removal: Protect the front fender/front bumper/carpet (driver's side) → turn off the ignition switch, disconnect the battery negative cable → remove the service disconnect switch → cover the mounting hole with the traction battery service disconnect switch cover (E700101) to prevent metal debris from entering and causing circuit faults → unlock the locking clip at (A) of connector (1) by pushing backward, press the clip at (B) to release → unlock and disconnect connector (2) in the same manner → use a 10mm socket to remove the ground bolt (M6×12) → use an 8mm socket to remove the bracket bolts (M6×10) → use hose clamp pliers (BF0108A/B) to clamp the coolant hoses → use hose clamp removal pliers (BF0109) to remove the clamps and disconnect the coolant hoses (before disconnecting, move the connectors to a suitable position to prevent coolant from falling in; after disconnecting, wipe up any residual fluid around the hoses) → use an 8mm socket to remove the ground strap mounting bolt (M6×12) → use a 10mm socket to remove the mounting bolts (M8×25) ×2 → remove the charger.
